Shinnny New Toy

It really is shinny. Glossy is the more apt term. Got a PS3 the day Sony announced the price cut. I was planning to buy a 40 Gigs version but dint :). Why?

  • i am a sucker for more HDD space.
  • Know that bluray stuff (saving game data) requires more space.
  • Given the limited games available for PS3, it helps to have some backward compatibility. so I can buy PS2 games.
  • I DINT WANT TO BUY A DISCONTINUED MODEL (referring to 60G model)
So there, I bought the biggest baddest model on the market. BTW, it took me going to 3 stores to get my hands on the a console.
  • CompUsa - right across my office has PS3 listed as available in stock in store, but dint
  • EB Games - a few blocks up, still had it for the old price, apparently it takes a couple of days for the price to be updated in there system (I am dont think if it makes any sense.)
  • Circuit City on van ness - After long walk from van ness muni subway station to post street, i finally got it.
And do I like it or what. I will write a detail review later as I haven't got much time to play with it (literally).

Also, any recommendations for games on the PS3. I have already got Fall of man.

Also, this venn diagram can help you decided on which PS3 fits you the most.
Microsoft Corp. agreed to invest $240 million for a 1.6% stake in Facebook Inc. that values the social-networking site at $15 billion, beating Google Inc. in a closely watched contest.

  1. Value of 15 billion. you have got to be kidding me.
  2. I think ad sales are overrated. (More on in sometime later)
  3. Sigh. I really need to start my own company.

Google's architectural model around broadband and services and so forth plays very well to the powerful devices and services Apple is doing. We're a perfect back end to the problems that they're trying to solve. And they have very good judgment on user interface and people. They don't have this supercomputer I'm talking about, which is the data centers. -- Eric Schmidt, CEO, Google

Material Life

There are these times when the must haves just keeps growing. Its been happening to me. And I think I am liking it..ofcourse assuming I get a chance to strike off a few items of the list..

Things I want (and not need, but I do need them..??) in no particular order:
  •  Sony Playstation 3 20GB - coz that would be the cheapest of the versions to come out. Why settle for the low end model..well coz there are few more competing needs (dammit..for the last time its a want..)
  • A really cool phone. it will not be iPhone as I need GPS and 3G. I am thinking Blackberry 8800.
  • Atleast 47" LCD HDTV, preferably Samsung. My research says its good.
  • can I add buncho'  PS3 games as well.  Gears of war, Unreal Tournament 3. Just to compensate for my non-violent nature in real life.
This wantlist can easily put me back some 3000 dollars at least. hmmm..may be these are just wants and not needs after all.
